Morgan Barnes

Morgan Barnes’  infectious enthusiasm, humility and authenticity were indispensable as she ably captained the color guard and cross country team, and served as President of the National Honor Society.  She helped bridge the transitions between three different cross country coaches by recruiting runners and providing continuity when needed, and the team advanced to the State Championships for the first time in twelve years. She helped the band program through a transition period as well , and helped maintain the band’s tradition of discipline and excellence through countless hours of leading practices and performances.  And, she initiated numerous supply drives, tutoring programs and teacher appreciation efforts through the National Honor Society. Morgan will graduate with a 4.89 GPA and a class rank of 9.  Morgan wants to pursue a career in nursing and will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
